FAQ
Frequently asked questions.
Common questions about scheduling, pricing, imaging and lab orders, and how clinical review works at Palmetto Preventive.
We do not accept walk-ins. All appointments must be scheduled online or by phone so we can serve patients efficiently and confirm that the appropriate clinical staff is available. Same-day scheduling is available when the calendar has an opening. Pelvic and obstetric (OB) ultrasound exams must be scheduled at least three days in advance.
No. Palmetto Preventive is a direct-pay (self-pay) practice. You pay a clear, transparent price for your ultrasound or laboratory testing — there is no insurance billing and no surprise bill.
Not necessarily. If you already have an order, you can upload it or bring it with you. If you don’t have one, eligible services can be submitted for review by a licensed provider, who will determine whether the ultrasound or lab testing is appropriate. Some laboratory tests require an existing order.
No. We provide non-emergency outpatient diagnostic services only. We are not an emergency department, urgent care center, hospital, or a substitute for emergency evaluation. If you are experiencing severe or rapidly worsening symptoms, seek immediate medical care or call 911.
Your study or lab work is interpreted through the practice’s clinical workflow, and results are typically available within 24 to 48 hours through the patient portal. You can also indicate a referring or other provider who should receive a copy of your report.
We are located at 29 Leinbach Drive, Suite B1, Charleston, SC 29407, in West Ashley, serving Charleston and surrounding communities.
We offer outpatient diagnostic ultrasound and laboratory testing today. We do not provide breast imaging or cardiology services. A note on what we are. Palmetto Preventive provides non-emergency outpatient diagnostic imaging and laboratory services. We are not an emergency department, urgent care center, hospital, or a substitute for emergency evaluation, and we are not a longitudinal primary-care practice. If you are experiencing severe or rapidly worsening symptoms, seek immediate medical care or call 911.
