A groin ultrasound evaluates the soft tissue of the groin for bulges, lumps, enlarged lymph nodes, or a known reducible hernia.

Most exams take about 15 to 30 minutes once approved. You can typically return to normal activities immediately afterward.
What to expect
A qualified sonographer or physician applies a warm gel to the skin and moves a small handheld probe over the area. The exam is non-invasive and painless, and you can typically return to normal activities immediately afterward.
